OAK-FFC-3P
Description
The OAK-FFC-3P (DM1090FFC) is a modular DepthAI baseboard with three FFC camera interfaces, built for developers and system integrators who want to design their own stereo and RGB camera setups around the OAK-SoM.
Key highlights
- Three FFC interfaces: connect two 2-lane MIPI mono modules (stereo pair) plus one 4-lane MIPI RGB module, or three mono modules when RGB is not needed.
- Custom stereo baseline: modular mono cameras let you set your own baseline and, with M12-mount modules, swap lenses for wide or narrow custom FoV.
- RVC2 processing: 4 TOPS total (1.4 TOPS for AI) to run standard or custom-built AI models after conversion.
- On-board vision pipeline: stereo depth with post-processing and RGB-depth alignment, plus warp/dewarp, resize, crop, edge detection, feature tracking, and 2D/3D object tracking.
- Encoding: H.264, H.265 and MJPEG at 4K/30FPS and 1080P/60FPS.
- Flexible I/O: USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C host interface, 5V barrel-jack or Type-C power, on-board IMU (over SPI), and RPi camera compatibility via an Arducam FFC adapter.

Camera interfaces
- 3× OAK-FFC-OV9282 (DM0250TG_R1M1E1) mono camera module interfaces, or
- 2× OAK-FFC-OV9282 (DM0250TG_R1M1E1) plus 1× OAK-FFC-IMX378 (DM0249_R1M1E1) RGB camera module interface
- Interface for OAK-SoM, with pads for 1.8V SPI, 3.3V SDIO and 1.8V Aux signals (I2C, UART, GPIO)
- 5V fan header or USB Type-C
Only revision R1M1E1 and newer camera modules can be connected to this board. If you need four FFC interfaces, see the OAK-FFC-4P.
Depth range
Because the mono cameras are modular, the minimum and maximum perceivable distances depend on your chosen baseline, FOV, resolution and stereo depth mode. With OAK-FFC-OV9282 modules: minimum distance (800P) = 882.5 × baseline / 95, minimum distance (400P) = 441.25 × baseline / 95, and maximum (using subpixel) = baseline/2 × tan((90 − 71.9/1280) × PI/180).
FFC cables
Ships with a 26-pin, same-sided, 152 mm Molex series 15166 cable (part number 151660281). Shorter or longer cables from the same Molex series can be used.
Getting started
Power the board via USB Type-C or a 5V barrel jack and connect to a host over USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C. With cameras and the OAK-SoM, total power usually stays below the 900 mA USB 3 spec, but Type-C power of 1.5A or greater is recommended. The reset button resets the OAK-SoM only; the boot button forces USB boot. On-board LEDs indicate 5V present, OAK-SoM power-good (PG), and RUN (SoM not in reset).
